Our brand-new Auckland Island Adventure is a six-night journey exploring the best of Auckland's harbour and surrounding islands, all from the comfort of one centrally located hotel - the outstanding Movenpick Hotel.
Each day brings something different. A private charter cruise up the tranquil Riverhead river system to New Zealand's oldest riverside tavern. The Royal Mail Run to Kawau Island, the largest mail run by water in the Southern Hemisphere, complete with a barbecue lunch on board and a wander through the historic Mansion House grounds. A peaceful crossing to Tiritiri Matangi Island, home to rare native birds including takahē, saddleback and tūī. And a visit to volcanic Rangitoto, where you can choose your own pace, whether that's a relaxed wander near the wharf or a summit walk for spectacular harbour views.
We'll also spend a day exploring the charming seaside village of Devonport, taking in panoramic views from Mt Victoria, the history of North Head, and the Navy Museum at Torpedo Bay, before capping off the week with a special farewell dinner at Orbit Restaurant, high in the Sky Tower, where the view slowly revolves around you as you dine.
